The Lincoln Militia has a interesting history. It eventually became the Gore Militia but under the name Lincoln it fought in some well known battles. The Lincoln was at Queenston Heights, Chippewa, Frenchmen's Creek, Detroit, Lundy's Lane and Stoney Creek during the War of 1812. Members of this Militia fought with General Brock at Queenston and Detroit.
It was also used in the Rebellion of 1837.
